Scope and Contents Note:

Handbooks issued annually to new students at Massachusetts Agricultural College; then State College and University. Until 1923 the handbooks were produced by the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA); subsequently they were published by the Christian Association, the Student Religious Council, the Student Senate and Women's Student Government Association respectively; eventually they were compiled by a student handbook staff. Handbooks contain general information for students, including a list of college buildings, a campus map, and information about work opportunities, faculty, clubs, organizations and publications, and social activities.
