Series Description

This series contains information related to five committtes or reports: The Committee of Four, formed by the Committee of Ten in 1937 to look at the interrelationship of trustees, administration, faculty, alumnae and students and to propose a plan for better coordination among these groups (records, 1936-1938); the "Working Paper on Education for Mount Holyoke College" (1969), proposing changes to education at Mount Holyoke; The Fact Finding Committee on Co-education, formed in 1968; and the Danforth Report, dealing with liberal arts education and sex differences that was the result of a 1972 Danforth Workshop on Liberal Arts Education at which a team from Mount Holyoke was present; and records, 1974-75, of the Ad Hoc Committee on Communications and Decision-Making, formed in 1975 at the instigation of the Board of Trustees, to examine, clarify and strengthen the channels of communication between the Board, students, faculty and staff.
