Notes: These two notebooks form one continuous journal letter made up of multiple entries spanning a period of eleven months. 

Pages 7-10 of the manuscript consist of a note inserted in the October 17, 1848 entry by Seminary founder Mary Lyon. 

A typed transcript is available for the March 9, 1849 entry only, which includes a description of Mary Lyon's last illness, death and burial.
